A new room for the Heroes…

It all happened pretty quickly.  We were planning to stay where we were for another couple of years.  Get married, while saving money to move to Florida.  Well, you know what they say about the plans of men, right?  The land lady told me she was going to raise the rent, so for the next week I chewed off all of my nails.  I have to be honest and say I was not happy that she was planning to raise the rent.  It wasn’t worth what we were paying, but that is her choice and so we made ours and moved.

My sister offered us a room in her house for the next couple of months and in April we will move to Cap Cod and live in her trailer while saving for a place of our own there.

My sister and her husband have opened up opportunities for John and myself.  So much so that I don’t know what to say, because “thank you” doesn’t cover it.

  1. A “Thank you” may not seem much, but if the roles were reversed… how would you like your sister to show her appreciation to you? I would suggest that a “Thank you” is very appropriate. Perhaps keeping in touch on a regular basis would be welcomed. Perhaps a “thinking of you” card from Cape Cod now and then would be appreciated. Leaving her trailer as good as (or better than) you found it would be appreciated. When you have the inevitable misunderstandings with her, just remember that regardless of where her brain may be at that moment, her heart is certainly in the right place! There are so many ways to show your appreciation for what she has done but offering a sincere “Thank you” is probably the best….. and it costs nothing but a small amount of your time. 🙂
